WorkBench: Legal Help Needed: Better Call VLA and Legal Aid

Do I need a lawyer? Can I afford legal help? What are my rights? How do I start this process? Seeking out legal assistance as an artist or creative business owner can be overwhelming, time-consuming, and expensive. But it doesn’t have to be. We’re extremely lucky in Cleveland to have access to two very supportive organizations dedicated to helping our creative communities better navigate legal concerns. Hear from Volunteer Lawyers from the Arts (VLA) and Cleveland Legal Aid Society on the resources they have to offer in providing accurate and cost-effective legal advice for a wide range of issues. 

Stay for an additional half hour at this extended Workbench for a special session with the VLA and Legal Aid folks on the basics of Intellectual Property law – what it means for you as a creative and how you can legally protect your work.
